KZN is easily reached either by car on good tarred roads from all centres or by air from any other major destination in South Africa. Approximate driving time from Johannesburg to Durban/KZN is around 6 hours or a flying time of a little over an hour.
 
Durban itself can get a little crowded over the December and January months but the nearby resort town of Unhlanga Rocksoffers a lovely alternative only a short, 15 minute drive from Durban.
